Redwoods Ntl Park

The Redwoods are GIGANTIC. They are enormous around and extremely tall. Unlike the Sequoias the whole forest is filled with Redwoods. The forest is very lush with other trees, ferns, and moss grows everywhere. If a tree dies or is damaged by lightening new trees and ferns will grow on top the stump. These pictures were taken in the Jedediah Smith Grove.

Rolls Royce of RV Parks

We've spent this past week at this terrific RV park in Red Bluffs which is 23 miles south of Redding, Ca. It opened last Aug and has every amenity imaginable. We've done tons of relaxing, but it's time for a new adventure. Tomorrow were are going to the Redwoods. It will take us about 4.5 hours.

Yosemite National Park

We left the Pollock campground at Three Rives and headed to Yosemite. Gary decided we should take a "shortcut". We took a road with extremely high grades up and down and terribly sharp curves. It was only 43 miles long, but took 3.5 hours. Towing the 5th wheel up and down with steep cliffs was a hair raising experience. We dubbed it the "Road From Hell". Yosemite was worth the ride. It was extremely beautiful with many waterfalls. El Capetian was massive. If you look closely you can see two climbers.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon

Sequoias are larger than you could imagine. They only grow between 6000 ft and 8500 ft elevation. Some are over 2800 years old. We also seen this coyote along side the road. It was an overcast rainy day. Next stop Yosemite.

Pismo Beach

Our summer began at Pismo Beach. Every morning we walked the beach as far as we could and then we walked into the little town. The campground was great. We loved the beach and could have stayed the rest of the summer.

Palm Desert Getaway

Dianna & Bill invited us for a week in Palm Desert. The temperature was over 100 everyday. We never had so much pool time. We took a tram up the mountain to cool off. The floor of the tram rotated 360* and it raised 3000 ft. The temp dropped almost 50 degrees. It was a good relaxing week.
